The Baylor Scott & White Health and Wellness Center at Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center is located at 4500 Spring Ave. in Dallas, in the former Juanita J. Craft Recreation Center. Named for the beloved and well known community activist Juanita J. Craft, the site has served the neighborhood for many years as a trusted place for individuals and families.
People who live in the Frazier neighborhood of southern Dallas have the highest rates of diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke in the city. To improve this situation, we work together with the City of Dallas in a joint effort to provide better prevention and access to care. By embedding a comprehensive healthcare team in the local recreation center, residents have convenient access to a medical clinic, one-on-one health coaching, nutrition counseling, and wellness classes. This approach has strengthened the programming and effectiveness of both entities in their efforts to provide a variety of programs and services to assist in living a healthier lifestyle and combat our countries challenges of poor nutrition, hunger, obesity and physical activity.
