Dr. Martinez is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Texas A&M College of Medicine at Texas A&M Health Science Center, Dallas. He is a fellowship-trained multi-organ abdominal transplant surgeon. He joined the transplant team at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Scott & White Health in 2018. Dr. Martinez performs liver, kidney and pancreas transplants and general surgical procedures on transplant patients.
He received his medical degree at Florida State University. Dr. Martinez went on to complete a general surgery residency at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston and then a fellowship in multi-organ abdominal transplantation at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He is board-certified in general surgery with additional certification in abdominal transplantation.
Dr. Martinez is an adjunct assistant professor with the Texas A&M Health Science Center and teaches residents and fellows at Baylor University Medical Center. His research interests include outcomes of dual organ transplants. He is committed to increasing awareness about living and deceased organ donation.
In his free time, Dr. Martinez enjoys playing guitar, baseball, hiking, and spending time with his dogs. He is fluent in Spanish.
