Dr. Sadat Shamim is deeply involved in the epilepsy program including the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and the neurophysiology department, which is accredited by ABRET and is a member of the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). Previously, he was the medical director of the inpatient neurology service at Baylor Dallas from 2009 to early 2017, which was recognized by U.S. News & World Report. Dr. Shamim was also Chief of Neurology for BSW from 2018-2021. He is an assistant clinical professor at Texas A&M University, is responsible for teaching students and residents, and is well published. He sees most general neurological conditions in his outpatient clinic and has particular interests in epilepsy, stroke and memory disorders.

D Magazine as a Best Doctor for 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.
Dr. Shamim has been named one of Texas Monthly's Texas Super Doctors for over 10 years earning him a place on Texas Monthly's Hall of Fame list.
