Scholarship overview
The goal of the scholarship is to support applicants who demonstrate a commitment to community engagement and collaborative, team-based service, while also easing the financial burden students may experience during an away rotation. Students interested in pursuing a career in one of the following specialties are eligible to apply: Dermatology, Diagnostic Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedic Surgery, Pathology, or Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. One scholarship award of up to $1,500 will be available for each specialty to support a rotation at Baylor University Medical Center or Baylor Scott and White Medical Center-Waxahachie between July and January.
Who should apply
Senior medical students entering the current year’s match that are from LCME or AOA-accredited medical schools within the United States and Puerto Rico but whose home institution is outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex are welcome to apply.
